What is Abominare Amor? Abominare Amor is the TheFanlistings.org approved fanlisting for the relationship, whatever you may see it as, between Harry Potter and Lucius Malfoy from the Harry Potter series. Who are Harry and Lucius? Harry James Potter is the brave Gryffindor, loyal friend, talented Seeker, Boy-Who-Lived, and expected defeater of the Dark Lord Voldemort. He was born to James and Lily Potter on July 31, 1980 at which point Sirius Black (James's best friend) was named his godfather. On the night of October 31, 1981, the Dark Lord Voldemort attacked Godric's Hollow, where the Potter family were living in hiding. He killed James straight away, then later killed Lily while she was trying to protect Harry. It was then that something most unusual happened, for when Lord Voldemort tried to using the Killing Curse (Avada Kedavra) on Harry, the curse rebounded off Harry and back onto Voldemort, destroying his body and scattering what was left to the winds. The night left Harry with a lightning bolt shaped scar on his forhead, no family but his mother's Muggle relatives, and the title The Boy Who Lived. Lucius Malfoy is the father of Draco Malfoy, Harry's Slytherin school rival. He was a Slytherin in school, a Death Eater now, and is a rather arrogant aristocrat type. He's a wealthy pureblood wizard and tends to think poorly of people who aren't. After Voldemort's first fall he used his money and influence to escape punishment by claiming to be under outside control. That money and the prestige that comes with being a member of a very old pureblood family allowed him to gain considerable control in the Ministry of Magic and over the Minister Cornelius Fudge himself. A Brief History of Harry and Lucius Before Harry's second year at Hogwarts he meets Lucius Malfoy for the first time in Diagon Alley. There, Lucius introduces himself to Harry and when the Weasleys arrive on the scene there's a bit of a scuffle. In the confusion that follows, unbeknownst to anyone, Lucius slips a magical diary that once belonged to Tom Riddle (the young Dark Lord Voldemort) into Ginny Weasley's books. This one action is the direct cause of all the adventure Harry faces throughout his second year, in which the legendary Chamber of Secrets is opened, a monster is let loose on the school, Harry is believed to be the Heir of Slytherin, and Lucius tries his best to get Headmaster Dumbledore removed from Hogwarts. Lucius does manage to get the school board of governors to remove Dumbledore, and get Hagrid carted off to Azkaban as the only suspect to the horrible happenings at the school, but in the end Harry defeats the memory of Tom Riddle and the Basilisk in time to save Ginny's life. After speaking to Headmaster Dumbledore about what happened in the Chamber of Secrets, Harry is on his way out of Dumbledore's office when Lucius storms in. He rants about Dumbledore being back, and Dumbledore informs him that the board of governors saw fit for him to return when they heard Ginny had been killed. Dumbledore then goes on to explain that Tom Riddle was responsible for the events, while Dobby (Lucius's house elf) tries to mimmick something to Harry from behind Lucius. Harry finally understands what Dobby is trying to tell him and he confronts Lucius, accusing him of giving Ginny the diary. Lucius snears at him to, "Prove it." before storming back out again. Harry takes the diary and chases after him, forcing him to take it back. Unaware of what Harry has done, Lucius throws the diary to Dobby, who catches it then freezes in shock. Inside the diary is a sock, which grants Dobby his freedom from the Malfoy family. Lucius is furious, and starts to attack Harry, but Dobby uses house elf magic to throw Lucius back and down a set of stairs, after which he quickly leaves. Just before Harry's fourth year he and Lucius meet again at the Quidditch World Cup. They don't see each other again until the end of the year when Voldemort uses Harry's blood to have a body returned to him. Voldemort calls all of his Death Eaters, including Lucius, to him and he says how disappointed he is in Lucius because of his lack of overt loyalty. Harry duels Voldemort and manages to escape, but Minister Fudge won't believe that Voldemort is back or that Harry saw Lucius (among others) with him as his loyal Death Eaters. What is a fanlisting? The fanlisting concept was thought of by Janine, of seraphic-devil.org. There are hundreds of different fanlistings for people, places, things, concepts, tv shows, movies, and couples. They're individual lists of fans who like that certain subject. If you want to know more, check out the official fanlistings site. What about the layout? The site is skinned, so there are four different layout choices at present: v.2 arrogance, which features an image of Lucius cloaked in shadows from the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets film v.3 hero, which features an image of Harry standing in darkness from the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban film v.4 accusation, which features images of Harry and Lucius in Dumbledore's office when Harry accused Lucius of giving Ginny the diary during the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets film v.5 on guard, which features images of Harry and Lucius blended, both standing on guard and glaring out at the world daringly What about the first layout? The first layout was designed before the site was skinned, and after having it up for over a year I decided to simply retire it. It was entitled "threatening" and you can see a few screencaps of it here. What about the site? The site name is Latin, and literally translated it means "to hate love." You can read into that, or not read into that, anything you like. :) The graphics were all done by Selene la Luna. The original images used were found at The Leaky Cauldron and thesnitch.co.uk.
